I agree that all life is of incalculable value. That being said, I don't think that taking hard earned value ($$$) from one person via force, which is what law is, and then giving it to another, for whatever purpose, increases the value of the recipient or of the person taking the hard earned value ($$$) nor of the person from which the hard earned value was taken.
Perhaps the value of labor would rise if there were shorter lines for the work.
